Aaron Ossia is a UK--Japan based multi-media artist working across installation, performance, video, print and sound. His practice explores themes of futility, ambiguity, alienation and escapism. Through physically demanding actions, repetition, and the use of found materials, he create ritualistic gestures that appear to transform nothing, yet leave resonant traces of the activity of the artist. Irony and play complicate these gestures, opening space for absurdity, pointlessness and awkwardness. Shifting between melancholia and speculative optimism, the work proposes temporary zones of suspension—where meaning is unsettled, and the useless becomes a site of quiet resonance.
